I am a spinal and back pain specialist. I am a general Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist practice in low back pain surgery. I do not operate on other parts of the body – hips, knees, shoulders or hands although I can offer advice. My private practice is similar to my NHS practice. I believe patients need to be involved in their treatment, and I am delighted to spend time discussing treatment options, fears and concerns with them.
Madhurie has been a Consultant Anaesthetist in practice with Mr Rajiv Bajekal since 2008. She is a subspecialty interest and passion for Anaesthesia and Analgesia for Orthopaedic (mainly Spines) and Obstetric surgery. These two sub-specialities offer her the opportunity to indulge in plenty of patient interaction whilst allowing plenty of job satisfaction as the outcome in both specialities leads to the alleviation of pain! She loves to dabble in watercolour painting and learn singing in the ancient Indian Hindustani Classical tradition. She is happiest when organising parties, get-togethers and events.
Dawn Flatt has been working with Mr Bajekal for 18 years as his Private Practice Manager. She enjoys her constantly evolving role and believes that all her previous positions prepared her for the many different aspects of this one. She will be your empathetic first point of call for questions, booking procedures and is also able to book your clinic appointments in some of the hospitals where Mr Bajekal practices. If she can’t help you, she will know who can. In her spare time, she teaches Yoga and has a particular interest in therapeutic yoga for the spine as well as yoga for menopause. She also runs a Chair Yoga class for the less able to raise some much-needed renovation funds for her local Village Hall. A recent convert to a Whole Food Plant-Based way of life she has developed an interest in cooking, she also likes to spend time with her large family, is a Parish Councillor, enjoys upcycling furniture and walking her dog.
